Music of Many Nows—Musical Configuration Spaces and the Networked Possible

  • Seoul National University South Korea (map)

In this talk, selected examples from the history of telematic art are referenced leading up to what we now call teleconcerts. Rosenboom then discusses theoretical paradigms for creating interactive music across variable time-space frameworks with current technology. This ensues from what he terms propositional music, in which musical configuration spaces are composed that can be traversed in performance through multiple possible pathways, each with its own independent time frame—a paradigm for music of many nows.
